AFHM needed something to peek the communities interest as to what was going on and what all the museum talk was about. The Barn Museum evolved in 2004 after a barn was constructed on the grounds to be used for storage. It was a beautiful Gambriel Roofed barn 30' by 60'. Just perfect for a taste of the museum to come. A village, a home, school, the train, and machinery to work the farm land. A taste of rural living history.
The Barn is home to five stores - a soda shop - a one room school - Kitchen, sitting room, wash house, and several small displays. It is like stepping back in time when you enter the door. It represents life 1920's thru early '50's. One has to see it to believe it.
Come and visit with us on a Saturday between May and October. We welcome small groups, tour groups, bus loads, school classes, family reunions
